Hello MPC-FORUMS! I bought an MPC 5000 about 2 months ago, and have been dedicated to learning the unit, reading the manual (several times!) and reading many of the forum topics here. I have quite a bit of pre-existing knowledge about sequencing, sampling, etc, but up until now have only used tracker programs for production. One of the challenges I am having with the MPC is figuring out how to manipulate and automate effects. The manual shows how to assign effects to busses, and how to use the Q-Links to manipulate them. A couple questions I have that I cannot figure out from the manual so far:
(1) Can a Q-Link be used with an effect or filter to manipulate all 16 pads simultaneously? For example, I built a drum program and would like to use the Q-link to change the pitch and hi pass filter to all pads at the same time while I play.
(2) Is it possible to create a sequence, and then record or overdub effect automations to the sequence in realtime? Example, I record a 30 second sequence of piano tones from the pads, and then want to make the sequence play / record through a filter sweep. (Can this be programmed, or do I need to record to the HD as a new audio track to capture the filtering? Is it an envelope function somewhere?)
(3) Kind of unrelated, but I am used to having the ability to create a forward-backward loop (ping-pong) in other software programs, but the MPC seems to only have a forward loop function. Any way to ping-pong a loop on the 5000?
Thanks SO much for any help and suggestions, and for the wealth of information on this site.
