2000/XL heads,

As a 3000 user I am a noob when it comes to this. I'm trying to get this sorted for a friend. Search function already gave me some insight alright. Hope you guys can help us out.

What is the maximum readable HD Size for the 2000XL?

Would this drive work?

Seagate Barracuda SCSI
Capacity: 18GB
Spindle Speed: 7,200RPM
Interface Type: SCSI 68pin / HD68 Female
Disk Size: 3.5"x1.0" (Low Profile Hard Drive)
Sustained Throughput (MBps):
Average Seek Time (read/write ms): 8.5 / 9.3
Electrical Interface Speed: SCSI LVD U160 - 160MBps 16-bit
On-Board Cache: 2MB

Let's say I mount it a 5.25 & 3.5 SCSI external drive box

Thanks

Hmm you could be taking a risk, it officially supports up to 4.5gbs but I know for a fact that people have used up to 9gb. Haven't heard of anything bigger myself, and even if someone posts that their 18gb drive works unless it's the same exact model - yours isn't guaranteed to work...

Mine is 9gb, no partition.

No, I don't remember the brand, make or model number.

Next time I'm in my room I'll open it up and see what exact model it is.
It's REALLY REALLY old though and I'm SURE it's not made anymore, lol.
