Hey, so I'm having a bit of a conundrum with my MIDI setup. The situation is this: my laptop has one MIDI I/O interface connected to the MPC MIDI 1/A. So I want the MPC to interface with this. I also have a MIDI footpedal set to transmit MIDI messages on ch 11. The question is, can I use the soft thru on the MPC to get MIDI data from my footpedal to the computer at the same time using the MPC to sequence synths on the computer?

The JJOS manual says:
OMNI-A: The MPC will output the incoming MIDI data as it is from MIDI OUT A.

So does this mean that the sequenced track data will also go out from A?

Yep. Just make sure to have it set to OMNI-A or whatever, not BY TRACK or whatever the settings are.

It'll thru-put anything that goes in, and you just have to set a track to output MIDI to output the track as well.

For example, you could plug in a MIDI keyboard on input 1, and a synth onto output A, and with soft-thru, you could play the synth with the keyboard as well as record and playback sequences.
