Apologize if this has been mentioned. Searched but didn't find anything.

If used as a plugin, can the software send output on multiple channels? Similar to how multi instruments are used in Logic. In other words, if I have a ren song with 8 tracks, can I send all 8 ren tracks to 8 tracks in the daw? And control the levels of the ren tracks from the faders in the daw? And apply audio effects to each track in the daw?

Or will it only allow the ren to output to one stereo instrument track in the daw, therefore having to mix the track in the ren software?

If it doesn't allow multiple output, I'm not really understanding why you would need to load the ren as a plugin.

Yes it does allow you to multi output. Download the manual it is your friend. It explains several ways to do it.

Fwiw, I've talked to a few people since posting. Sounds like this isn't possible. No matter how many tracks you have in the mpc software, you only have one vst track in the daw.

Guess ill have to wait until I pick one up, or more people can verify. But if its not multi-out in plugin mode as I described, I can't see why you would use this in a daw.

Yeah that sounds about right you wouldn't be able to have say Ominsphere in Ren as a multiout plugin and then have it appear as multiout plugin in Logic Pro, no it doesn't work that way. Plugins are assigned to a pad so you will have one output. Ren isn't a full fledged daw yet. It would be better to bounce and export the plugin sequence to audio and drag it into your daw for mixing.

No daw that I know of let's you assign multiouts from a plugin within a plugin into a daw.

^^^. No that's not what I'm talking about doing, but I agree the scenario you described doesn't seem like it would work.

Not sure how to explain.

In Logic you can create a multi-instrument with 8 "channels" and load stylus. You can assign an individual loop to each of stylus' 8 channels. In Logic you will see each of the 8 faders in the arrange window, and can control the level of each channel in stylus. So to mix the song you don't have adjust the levels within stylus. Unless you're editing the loop playback params you don't have to open stylus at all.

From what I can tell from reading and what others are saying, this isn't the case with the mpc software. It doesn't matter how many tracks your mpc song has, you will only ever have one fader in Logic. This is why I say that if this is the case it doesn't make sense why you would ever use the software in plugin mode. In other words, the mpc software plugin isn't designed as a multi-instrument. (Not saying, just assuming)

Sorry if still not clear. I'll just have to check it out at a store when some are in stock.

Actually if you are using samples in Ren not plugins but samples in Ren's programs assigned to a pad you can route them out in logic. When you assign Ren to a software instrument channel in Logic Pro you should see stereo version, 8xstereo, or 16xmono version from the get go. If you don't then I'm wrong and you are right. However if you do seen these options then remember mpc programs with samples can be assigned to different outputs; but plugins within Ren can be assign to only one stereo outputs like 3-4, 5-6, or something at a time.

Jah or imadebeats or someone can confirm because daw tracking is one of the highlights of software based instruments!

Hey man really appreciate the continued effort to help me understand. You are probably right as I dont have one yet.

Yeah would be great for someone to chime in that can confirm. Probably the one capability that I wouldn't want to do without.

Even if it doesn't work that way it could always be added in a future release.

Thanks again!

I am using Logic Pro. I can't even figure out how to do this with Maschine. When I add Maschine, I am giving the option of adding Maschine with 16 outs. I add them and nothing. I believe when you do this with Cubase, all 16 outs show up immediately in the Mixer.

Cool I don't have a Ren yet either but I work with logic, spark, ultra beat but they work the same way.

You have to click on the plus sign in the channel to add the aux channels. Then you are good to go! :smoker:

If it doesn't allow multiple output, I'm not really understaMPC 5000outputs
nding why you would need to load the ren as a plugin.

1. Launch Logic
2. Create Instrument Track on Track 1
3. Add MPC multi-channel plugin (8 stereo outs)
4. Within Logic, create 7 aux tracks by clicking + sign on the channel strip of Track 1
5. In MPC Ren's Program Mix Mode, route sounds to 8 stereo pairs of outputs.

Note - As of OS 1.0, only the Program Mixer has outputs.
