Hi Guys,

i have 2 Shruthi 1 synth's hooked up to my mpc1000 and i have them set up on 2 seperate midi tracks so that I can record my playing. I have one midi track using 1a, and the other using 2b. At the moment I am using the MPC1000's pads to trigger the synths but is there a way of hooking my midi keyboard up so when i select midi 1 a, it allows me to play on my keyboard for that synth and then when i select track 2b, I can use the same keyboard to play the second synth. So in essence I am using one midi controller to play both synths?

i guess i am confused as to how i connect my midi keyboard to play 2 different midi channels?

Sorry I am a midiot!

i am not sure exactly on the 1000, but there should be an option within an 'open window' somewhere that changes your midi thru to THRU or AS TRACK.

you want to set it to AS TRACK.
then, whatever track is currently selected will react to your midi input.

it is likely in the manual.

also - are you akai os or jj? might make a difference.

just plug a midi keyboard into the midi input... it should allow you to control whatever midi channel the track you have selected is set to. not difficult at all.
