What I should do??

This is what I should do. And maybe others too, is making more beats instead of being concerned about what's the best/newest machine/software to make beats with.

That's what we should do

I LITERALLY have been maing beats since the time you posted this then i looked up at my Motu-ish site and BAM! squeeky wheel gets the oil, huh! this would go nice with a touchbook pro hinged on it!....comon mactablet!

the casework is being powdercoated in the same aluminium grey as the software, im talking with the developers of the software currently and working with them to implement new features into the software, one big thing is the implementation of global cc# assignability to every single button and knob on the software. its important that everything on the software /controller has this functionality.

the control brain and other parts are now ready, i have all the switches, encoders faders and various caps here ready, they will have thier legends printed on them this week hopefully.

soon to follow will be the face plate graphics being supplied to me by the devs.

to be honest this is quite an achievement to be in touch with the devs and programmers/engineers of the bpm software and that they are so willing to help adapt the software to meet the functions of the control surface.

more pics to follow soon

Hopefully you can make a deAl with some company and get the controller out on the market
you'll make a killing out of it.
Good luck with everything.

no what we need is BPM with ALL those UVI sounds(maschine dont have a FULL keyboard in it), Logic Pro 9 chopping/stretching and midi CC on every pixel....basicaly.....FINISH THE JOB MOTU! we aaaaaalllmmmoosttt there!

Akai wont put that alesis fusion and the mpc1k together so you know they not going to give you a beat thang/beat thang viirtual deal.
in the groove box business thats called canibalism. i heard they are going to disco the mpc5k and make the mpc2500 the flagship. i know some companies are feeling this cold winter and are not making any profit.

btw - they WILL sell you the micron(miniak) and the Prolinear 820(rp88s)! :P ................but wont put the Andromeda in the mpc5k!

NAW.....naw dawg!....THIS has to be done by a SOFTWARE company. NI wont put Kontakt into maschine so they draggin they feet too!

its up to MOTU to FINISH putting Machfive V2 in BPM and slay the dragon!

way valid points. we can only hope. and if Motu does it, I still want a better BPM controller!

seems like Akai should just make "virtual mpc" program that has ALL the best mpc features and like bpm looks like a hardware unit on ya screen, they could let you change skins to look like any mpc and run stand alone or plug in. use a real mpc to control it or an mpd24 or 32 or mpk etc etc

would pretty much be an mpc that utilizes the power of your computers cpu and all the ram your system has

if worked just as any real mpc(you select which model emulation or a htbrid then would be no learning curve for hardware users to move to the software if they wanted to

yup.

i mean, i think thats why Beat thang "had" or "has" potential (they trying to match hardware and software). if you match the software with the hardware, and they both are based on the workflow of the mpc, that would be rad.

thats why i like motu bpm. its very close to the feel of my mpc, so i can use it pretty close to how i use my mpc, but get the advantages of dragging and dropping on the computer.

back in july, I was gonna buy BPM but then went ahead and upgraded from ableton live 5 to live 8 and got the Akai apc 40 dedicated ableton controller, was funny though because when i first saw bpm ad on back of electronic musician mag i think it was, I though it was a hardware unit because of the ad's illustration
the sp 1200 mode sounded cool, though ableton has a great groove/swing library and the bit grunger too
would like to play around with bpm though

computers sound like computers.i like the heartbeat actually produced indepenently.mpc style and then channeled in to pc.maybe fed staight ino some more hardware, mixer ect.cant understand the comparison from mpc to maschine.two different worlds...i have 4k and 5k.both are completely different to computer sequencing and end sound, results.like analog digital comparisons..fact is we will never be able to do it all.unless we mix the sources.example mpc plus fruity loops into ableton ect..cheers

1. computers sound like computers = wrong

computers sound like an mpc3000 once Dilla pressed the space bar!

2. i like the heartbeat actually produced indepenently.mpc style and then channeled in to pc.maybe fed staight ino some more hardware, mixer ect = why all the material in BPM is recorded just like you always wanted! the sound is Retard strong! then the sequencing is better than all other MPC-like softwares

3. fact is we will never be able to do it all.unless we mix the sources.example mpc plus fruity loops into ableton ect.

the fact is BPM did it all. they just have to finish the sampler and workflow with the pad controler. u must of not made any beats in BPM. i owned and/or ROCKED all the MPCs and imo BPM is waaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy better. u can do sooooo much more with the Fantom built INTO the MPC!

trust me dawg.

ps the sound in maschine is meh....but MOTU? with AAAALLLLL THOSE UVI CARDS?

oh yeah
