For yall that produce R&B...

whats a good tempo for R&B.

just pick up some of your fav. R&b cd's and give them a play and just use the tap tempo button on the mpc and just write down some numbers. I mean somebody here can tell ya what they like but you already can answer that question.

65.5 - 120.00 BPM are most ,TAP TEMPO/NOTE REPEAT from whatever CDs you have to find that tempo u are looking for all mayvery its all on how u freak it..........Good luck!

I know R. Kelly used to stay right around 69 BPM back in the day. Try that.

70's, 80's and 90's. you can go towards 130 and still have a slow sounding tempo. just shorter bars.

its not really all the tempo's job but how you arrange your drums also.

any R&B track that is 130 bpm is definitely recorded at double time meaning the actual bpm would be more like 65 BPM. Alot of people use this because most R&B joints are set up at 8 bars ( 8 bar verse, 8 bar chorus, 8 bar bridge, 4 bar outro and intro) at double time that's 16 bars which is what a lot of producers are used to.

The track recorder I have is a Tascam 488. 8 Tracks. I have my laptop now so I record into C.E.Pro instead of usin the tascam to record. I used to record all my tracks onto cassette until I brought c.e.p back in the setup. its a strong piece of equipment. love it.

what about you?

I been in it for 2 months all I use now is the MPC2000xl. I'm saving to buy me a Yamaha Motif 8. I will post some beats in a minute. I produce with my brother.
