Tempo Transitions.........

So, in bofore im told to read the manual, read it, didnt answer my question (plus i think there's a bug) ........

Using an mpc1000 - jjos1
Roland Um-One midi to usb device
Reaper is my daw

So, basically i wanted to create a transition from one tempo to another using the mpc. It became quickly apparent the only way to do this was using the Q link slider (obviously i tried to hit window when on tempo but it gave no option to program in a tempo change)

Is this a bug? I swear in my older version of jjos i had the option to set my tempo change and the amount of bars it would change over, but for now i cant find it.

i thought , that must be too hard, so what i'll do is SLAVE my mpc to Reaper and crate a transition in Reaper using tempo markers etc. Set it all up but now my MPC wont slave to Reaper.........i can slave Reaper from the mpc no problems.

Im trying to create a 4 bar transition from say, 97bpm to the next beat, say 93 bpm, and at the moment, between the mpc and reaper im lost.

If anyone can provide some clarity that would be appreciated, if anyone wants to link me to old threads, please dont. i have searched for over 2 hours, found nothing but some shit threads on the reaper forum.

The easiest way to do this would be have all your sequences in your daw (reaper) and have the sound in the mpc. No slave master or whatever. Just a sequencer (daw) sending midi messages to a soundmodule (mpc)

Connect a midi cable: daw/soundcard out -> mpc midi in. Set up reaper to send out midi information. Set your mpc to multi channel input. each track will have it's own midi channel.

Then just adjust what ever tempo settings you want. The daw will trigger the sound in the mpc.

I use this way of sequencing myself sometimes. It's nice to have a pianoroll overview when recording chord progressions for instance. And also nice if you want vst-instrument plugins running along your mpc samples.

edit: I'm not sure jjos1 also has the multimidi input. Maybe it's an idea to update to 2xl then.

My man, cant believe i overlooked this. Least this way (without having a multi-timbral unit) i can draw in my transition in Reaper and still send midi (even if its one track at a time) to my mpc and record the resulting audio from the samples.

I once inquired about setting up an old school mpc setup where i did that and just played the midi from the PC but realised the 1000 wasnt multitimbral.......seems the best way to sequence in my opinion, you always got the bigger screen and the option to edit midi before committing to audio.
