Discuss the various methods you use in music production, from compressor settings to equipment type.

I have a problem. I've been using the MPC for a while now and I finished my first complete beat and everything sounds nice in the MPC. Now, when I record into Audacity everything sounds like pure shit (especially the low frequencies).
I have no experience with mixing etc. or whatsoever so I'm guessing it has something to do with this. Could anyone tell me what to do to prevent this? Preferably something I can do in the MPC, I hate the idea of making music on the computer.

EDIT: There's clipping on the kicks and the snares.

you also might want to invest in an audio interface if you havent already. it will improve your sound and flexibility 10fold over just going in the line in on your computer.
nowadays you can find pretty reliable ones for fairly cheap too.
