sp 404 djfxlooper, mpc 1k, korg kp3 effects routing

lately ive ben wanting an sp 404/555 for this effect:

the main problem i see with this is that he is using the sp standalone in the video. i want to use it in conjunction with my mpc, and in a perfect world, i would want to sequence everything on my mpc, and record it as separate mulitracks into logic while still being able to apply that djfx looper effect to certain tracks in the meantime. trouble is, i dont know how well my mpc would sync to my DAW if i had another piece of gear running through it.do you think it would even work like this?
i suppose i would take the outputs of mpc to the inputs of sp 404 then go out of that into my audio interface and multitrack it into logic.
my main concern would be sync issues as i would have to multitrack my beat out so i could mix it later on. this is paramount, i wouldnt even consider doing it seriously if i couldnt mulittrack my beat.
i was thinking i could maybe even ditch the sync all together and just put a clap or sine wave at the start of my first sequence (on my mpc) and line it all up manually afterwards. would you guys do it this way instead?
another problem i see is that he is effecting his whole beat at one time, so for those of you that have used this effect in the sp, did you find it better to effect everything like this guy did, or did you ever try just effecting the main sample, going back to dry, then back into effected looper status, then laying drums under it? (keep in mind i want to do this to parts of my beat, probably not the whole thing, thats why i ask)
but something tells me that it might sound better/it was designed for effecting everything all at once.

if this is the case, would you guys just save the sp effects for the very end after you mixed your beat in the DAW?

i know its kind of a long specific question, but i would really appreciate it if you guys could help me answer it. i really want to use this effect and others on a sp, but i want to build my beats on the mpc instead of the sp. so i cant fully visualize how it works.

last but not least, do you think i could just ditch the sp all together and get a korg kp3 for a similar sounding effect?

i record the mpc triggering external drum machines and samplers, and multi track the mpc outs, drum machine outs and sampler outs at the same time. i have never sync'd anything between daw and mpc mainly because i'm happy with my workflow and the mpc timing is solid. you can record 8 bars of dry claps coming from the mpc and solo out each track in song mode (i have the 4000) and line everything up manually after. i have no problem with the time it takes for this workaround. it's easy to zoom in logic, so i just do it. also, it might be a good thing to commit to the sp effects early on while multi tracking then move on. if you need to record one or two parts dry later then route through the sp from the daw you can always do that, but you might not need to. it will allow you to focus on other things as you reduce the choices you need to make as you go along. just a thought.

ah, that sounds like a good idea, i didnt think of using the individual outs on my mpc as well as recording the outputs of the sp 404/555.

this is also something I've been really interested in doing, but I didn't quite get your explanation, atestarr. could you break it down a little more for the slow ones in the class?
