Doubt it. Your best option might be to return/sell it and get Maschine.

Which has no mixer...

Now tell us again how you don't try to sell Maschines...

And you call me dense. A DEDICATED MIXER SCREEN. The OP is not pleased with the current implementation in the Ren as is obvious.

But yeah sure act like I was saying you couldn't actually mix levels and route in Maschine...

As you know it is done without the use of a dedicated mixer view like an MPC.

If you ever want to come out from behind your corny little pun name and have actual normal convos about Maschine,

And I can see why. There is definitely something wrong when a very basic thing like turning down a volume on a track after adding compression is so unintuitive and requires a convoluted workaround. Which is why I suggested he might want to try Maschine because Maschine's mixer (just because it doesn't have a "dedicated mixer screen" doesn't mean it doesn't have a mixer) lets you do all that very easily, all from the hardware.

OK that's 661 times you've posted that.

Seek help for whatever compulsive/obsessive disorder you clearly suffer from.

If peteblues or anyone else from Akai is reading this and you want to really make the Ren's mixer awesome then look into "Reaper's" routing and mixing capabilities because it has the most advance routing that I've ever worked with (this includes Pro Tools, Cubase, Sonar).

sends/busses/aux tracks and plugin delay compensation & audio tracks will make MPC a DAW not sure if Akai will want to go there..

i don't think the mixer sucks cause i don't use it for mixing to me the Ren is more
instrument than DAW.i can appreciate some peoples need to have one-stop shop
but this is not top of my list

respect to Pete for stopping by and taking onboard people concerns

If I wanted a Maschine, I'd have a Maschine. But I don't have a Maschine. Why don't I have a Maschine, you ask?

Because I don't want one.

Not necessarily because Kontakt basically has sends/busses/aux tracks, everything except audio tracks and I believe the MPC 5000 has audio tracks. I don't think it would make the Ren a Daw but in-fact a very flexible sample instrument,

if we did that, there would be all sorts of complaints of pad signals leaking onto other tracks. (e.g. if you have an 8th HH on track 1 and 16th HH on track 2, you'd then see 16th HH on both tracks).

Another thing I thought of. If I have a HH or snare sample that's about 2 seconds look, maybe was sampled with reverb or something and it's set to POLY, and I play it 8TH on one track and 16th on another, how does the MPC determine which track to route sound to and avoid signal leaks to other tracks?

Sorry, but I'm still just having a hard time accepting this! I just feel like a pad insert should be treating as if there is no insert, or as if the effect is part of the actual sample.

Probably should have not included any Pad Insert FXs and just included Pad Send FXs. Ren users would use it like they have any other MPC (No Pad Inserts) and the 'competition' aka other DAWs on the market...where 99% of end users Insert FXs on actual tracks....versus opening up the UI of a plugin instrument and insert a plugin there.

Yeah, but I'm glad they gave us the extra power of the pad inserts.

I agree. But we keep having these types of threads....

Another possible option would be to add inserts to submixes and give us 128 of them (submixes) or let us add them freely as needed.

They would basically function like buss or group channels.

* though I do like Hellfire's idea as well

If they have not reworked it ok Im not fussed about the sub mixes if they actually show up in the mixer page and you can treat them like any other track and bounce that along with your other tracks

the issue i have in 1.2 is when I add an effect they go to sub mix but sub mix doesnt show any levels in the track mixer only the 8 sub mix knobs on the side

cant think for the life of me why anyone would want to have a track in this way without monitoring levels and no ability to add effects to that sub mix?

Is this still the case in 1.3 Jah?
