yes but more lurkers than posters, these guys are not gentlemen and can be incredibly disrepectful. Didn't you see the classic Kay Kay thread? viewtopic.php?f=8&t=126963 and then there was Nicole who hit the road years ago. Unsurprisingly Kay Kay wasn't around for too long...

Having the mpc Ren as your main tool sucks right now

Wouldn't be so bad if it was a full on control surface at least you could still use it controlling your Daw

Well, one way for companies to deal with that is not say anything at all – and that, too, can drive customers crazy.
E.g., Ableton has never announced anything until they've been pretty close to getting it out. Some people like it, and some are driven apeshit by it.

E.g., there were Live users begging for 64-bit for years, literally, as it was causing problems for those (me, for one) who built large live sets and, afaik, Ableton never said a single word on it although their members were on the forum and following the topics.
Then, BOOM, when people least expected it and a lot of ppl had given up hope and they were going all "I'll be switching to another software" etc etc, 64-beta comes out of nowhere, to everybody's surprise.

If they had given any preliminary date/month, they would've had to put up with the same kind of complaining people are doing here regarding a delayed release date.

You can never please everybody, and announcing release dates IS always flaky.
Users should get used to uncertainty, as it seems that working on a software isn't as simple as baking a cake: you can't always keep your promise to deliver it tomorrow, and sometimes it's best not to promise anything at all, and whatever your policy regarding announcing updates is, there will be users bitching.

Mpc Renassaince on the other hand was advertised to do many things which ur doesn't either do or can't perform without crashing 1.3 to anyone who purchased the Ren early is hopefully just going to be a real 1.0 as we have yet to have a fully working product


How does ableton compare



It's ok to be a fan of a company but shouldn't translate to blind support our product is broke and we would like a working product

So which MPC or music production software that you have used that has a great 1.0? How about 1.1 or 1.2? If the first words you write are MPC XX, then you would not be telling the truth. If you say software X, then I will simply point you to that product's respective forum, if applicable, and you will read the same types of threads over there. Only those that would deny this are blind supporters and fanboys...as you guys say.

mpc 1000 with the akai software had a few missing features that I & many people wanted but did not stop me working and Im sure it didnt stop others I did a project on a friends very first version of the mpc 1000 and he still has not updated it to this day it did not crash constantly not even once doing the project it pretty much did what it said on the tin

can you tell me which mpc or product worked so bad it needed an update to work as advertised and that had so many features broken?

I have owned every MPC released since 1997. OS 1.0 on the Ren is as usable as OS 1.0 on any hardware MPC since that time. You can also search this forum and should likely find what I am talking about. While this may not comfort you, this is reality. The earlier model MPCs have far less features and functionality. But the software was far from perfect. OS 1.0 and 1.1 of the MPC 2000 and MPC 4000 were completely unusable. I am sure there are plenty of MPC 1000 users that will tell you OS 1.0 was awful.

I completed a project on the mpc 1000 out the box no update which exact version i cannot tell you but i know it was one of the earliest it shipped with as he had it not long after it dropped in the uk and did not update it just used it how it is

did not crash once

completed project and exported the parts to daw just did the bar of snare drums trick and lined em up in the daw then mixed and done

not at any time in this experience did I say why did that happen or damn it crashed did you save it it how come that doesn't work


I cant say this about the Ren I wish I could though
