Discuss Akai's iOS apps iMPC & iMPC Pro

You're right I just got my update for Beatmaker 2 and they really outdid themselves. And that app is only 20 bucks. If they made iMPC better I would gladly pay more!
The thing that is attractive to me about iMPC and Tabletop is its modular functionality so u actually control the signal flow like virtual hardware and also the way you pattern sequence. Kinda like the way you might switch between patterns in an mpc or between scenes in maschine as opposed to linear song structuring like in BM 2 and Reason/daw's etc. I am just starting to think that they may not catch up to Beatmaker 2. The audio bus is crazy nice that's fantastic.
But BM 2 is at version 2.4.3 and iMPC is version 1.0 so I'm hoping there will be really good things to come. I've used both and I like having the option.

Yeah, I like the turntable sampling in iMPC and Tabletop is nice. They just need to add some basic features for now. I agree, It is nice having so many options available! We are fortunate:)

Yeah man. I can't believe how advanced iOS has gotten in the last year or so. Insane! Speaking of I made a thread called (iMPC beats. Is anybody using this?) please feel free to post beat links there for any beats you've made with iOS for feedback.

Tabletop with iMPC integrated does have potential and is the closest thing to a Reason environment on the Ipad:

Exactly! Reason modular environment with groove box (mpc/maschine) workflow and non-linear pattern building process like maschine. It's got tremendous potential. The videos sick by the way. That right there is what I love about iOS music. When I started making music many moons ago I would've never thought this possible! Now I'm literally able to just like that sit in my backyard and make a beat if I want to. Or go to a coffee shop and make some music. Great stuff.

You could theoretically even make a beat while sitting on the toilet, lmao:

I knew that they found a small bug with using external Audiobus effects and had submitted a fix to Apple, but I didn't expect it to become available for at least a week. Wow, that was quick.

The Traktor app. looks cool, but I like Algoriddim Djay better.

Audiobus is huge. It is like adding VST instruments to Beatmaker!

Word, that was the fastest bugfix re-submit I ever saw on BM2. I think Apple has changed the policy or hired more oversight people. It used always have to roll around to the following Tuesday.

My iPad is getter weaker with every iOS update (audiobus already can't handle as much as a few weeks ago before i updated the OS), but I'm still loving the between WIST, Audiocopy, Audiobus, Background Core MIDI, I can do a ton of cool stuff before even having to grab my MIDI options or track out in real time.

It's still a little fiddly without iOS having a normal file structure but pretty much all the hurdles are now lifted. :-D

I love Samplr but need to really learn it in a power session, but really well thought app just from brief experience.

If it was their own synth I might be like meh, but an Arturia in app purchase? Yeah might be hard to resist. Especially as no other app has really tried to do a mini/voyager type look.

This is the best $9.99 I've spent all year!
