Hello,

Thanks for these heartening posts !

A new version is online http://www.mpc2000xlapp.com/ :
* Add the possibilty of removing a sample from a pad
* Changed the rename feature to fit the MPC 2000XL constraint (8 characters max).
* Add save shortcuts
* Fixed a bug that won't save sounds after changing the program name.

There is a problem on file names : MPC 2000XL accepts 16 characters, but when opening them on a PC or a MAC, it changes to 8 characters. So I'm limited to 8 characters for file names...
Hope you'll appreciate these changes.

Related to the DOS 8.3 file naming restrictions? Is this occurring when you transfer XL sounds to your computer?

No, actually, if I save on my Mac a name like "1234567890.PGM" and transfer it to the MPC, the MPC understands "1234567~.PGM" or "123456~1.PGM".
If I save a file inside the MPC, I can have "1234567890123456.PGM" (16 characters). But when I transfer it to the Mac, it understands "12345678.PGM".

So none of them understands each other. If you have an idea on how resolve this, It would be much appreciated !
Unfortunately, it happens without the use of my application.

There is no resolving that. It is a FAT protocol standard issue and it will never change. The last 8 bits of the format is different in the mpc. It's changed from the regular computer 16 bits of FAT. This is the reason why see the first 8 characters perfectly fine and why the last 8 are changed when moving files outside the

Hello,

A quick update to say that a new version is available with much more features :

* You can now change the names of the sounds by double-clicking on each name.
* While changing a name, pressing F1 will play the sound
* While changing a name, Pressing TAB will replace the name and go to the next name
* You can now drag a sound from the list and drop it onto a pad
* You can now play the sounds with your keyboard, and set your own shortcuts
* The screen is now linked to the pad played : same informations as the MPC
* All the sounds now cut the other sounds

Check it out here : http://www.mpc2000xlapp.com ! And enjoy...

I'd love to test this, but...

I've always had an error / problem with my Mac and Adobe Air.
I first noticed it's not working when I tried running Zinio Reader to read some digital mags: it wouldn't work...simply didn't, no matter what I did.

Anything Adobe Air related would simply hang, and now the same happens with this upon install. It doesn't crash the system or anything, but it hangs on install.

I wish there was a way to completely remove Adobe Air from the system and re-install it so I could test this badbwoy.
