I paid $229 for Recycle almost a decade ago and I am not in least bit mad at this. Fantastic for those who never bought Recycle as being able to REX a file can be a serious time saver. Both for the versatility and the fact the it's so easier to export the slices as individual WAV's. Although I need to check it the REX additions will let you do that from within Reason.

I think I'll be getting one those MS20 remakes and Monotribe just added CV, so I think the MID/CV out in Reason 7 is going to pretty dope.

Do you do anything different to route cv from something digital like reason to a real analog modular? Or do you just convert to audio using Thor and send it out an interface to the hardware? Ive used modular synths and modular software but never tried to use reasons cv as a real life cv source.

I had only gone as far as "whoa that's dope as hell" in my thoughts, as well as seeing something for the future for me. I plan to not really buy much more software (love it all but I have more than enough), and put my money toward analog synths, Moogerfroogers and those things. So the announcement really made me smile at the potential future to marry the old school CV stuff with the ITB stuff.

That page has some good insight into how a system like this would work and what's necessary to set it up. Prior to the Reason 7 announcement it was the only time I saw this being done really. (outside of the really techy DIY scenes)

Yeah I got that much, usually they release pretty in depth info on the development of stuff like that so I was wondering about specifics.

so ...... day 2 on the release. who copped it and what do you think? I love every part of it. all the way from the lower price to the free rack extension "audiomatic" to the new sound banks. the midi out is a good touch. As far as using vst's in reason, check this vid. i think it would make a lot of people happy..
