Hi there... Been reading posts and getting no specific answers... think it is time to make some questions:

I bought a second handed mpc 1000BK few days ago. Bought HDD adapter, Pad Upgrade ('bout 100€ in Germany, brand new, had to b mine) and 128MB Ram expansion as well...

Now I got some questions...

Is it really necessary to upgrade my pads even if they (the old ones) work right? I mean, Am I gonna feel the upgrade?

Do I have to upgrade the MPC1000 to any specific OS?; mine comes with the free JJ OS....

Dudes I need your Help coz this is f***n madness (like my english).

You have the new pads and sensor sheet kit yes?
Well that's a wise move on your part but, if the old pads are still working ok then there's no real need to change them until they begin to fail.

Then again, if you just want to get the inevitable over with, then go ahead and change them.
Someone might even buy the old individual pads off you for a small amount.

If you have JJ os free , you may want to cough up and upgrade at some point to get full functionality but it's not necessary to do so to use the new pads.

Fully agree. The old pads might work now, BUT they will surely die sooner or later. The day my 1000 was delivered, I checked the pads and ordered the upgrade and the RAM the same day. This was years ago, but I just recently thought to sell my old pads on ebay. I will be getting HDM-10 adapter soon.

As for JJOS, I can't really give too much advice on since I don't use it. I am happy with the Akai OS. When I did give JJOS a try, it was pretty nice, though. I just feel like if any MPC needs JJOS, it's the 2000xl. Just my opinion. JJOS does bring quite a bit more functionality tho.
