Going from a 5K to a 1K, wondering what I'm losing that I ca

The synth and the 8 track on the mpc5k are garbage and we all know it. Watever, I have a virus and a dps24 sitting right here...

Anyway, my cat pissed on my 5k, and I can't afford to replace it right now. I've owned all the mpcs cept the 25k and the 3k, so I'm not coming at this blind, but just trying to remember a few things on the 1k.

The only thing I can really come up with that Ill miss is the FX boards and the Q Links

The FX Boards I can just do with outboard, so I'll live, even though it sucks. But those Q Links are nice...

So, is there a way to add this to the 1k? If I got like some little midi knob/slider box, would I be able to control internal/external midi CCs with it and have the mpc sequence it?

Is the 2500 not in the budget right now? It seems like that would solve some of the issues.

The 2500 has never really interested me. The thought of taking my mpc with me is what makes the 1000 so rad to me. It'd kinda between the 5k and the 1k

Got it. The 2500 and the 1000 are basically the same unit, especially with JJOS on them. Only reason why I suggested it. I agree that the 1000s portability is dope but once you add the fader unit you are thinking about, you'll probably be price and size wise on the 2500's level. Something to consider.

Well, the knob bank is eiter going to be an mpd, which I've been meaning to pick up anyway, or midi keyboard of some kind.

I see what you mean, but it's also take apart-able. So if I wanna take just the mpc, I can, or whatever.

The 2500 does look slick though. That big screen would be nice to retain, especially since jjos makes such good use of screen real estate

The screens are the same size. The difference is that the the 2500's screen tilts. Unless you are talking about the XL screen, which they both can use but I believe the screen only flattens out on the 2500 while the 1000 one is always tilted. I think.
