Hey man, I'm glad to hear you had no problems with the fitting...
The part you showed, yes I should explain more about that. That is the inverter circuit, (it is exactly the same in the S900 and S950) and was used to power the backlight of the old display. When you unplugged the original connector at P401, you cut all power to this circuit. So there are 2 things you can do with it:
1. Leave the inverter where it is. And tie up the cable that used to connect to the right hand side of the display, as Harmonicj did above - because the cables will not detach from the inverter, they are fixed to the board. Cable / zip ties are included in the kit for this purpose. Because although the circuit and the cables are not powered now, you don't want a loose cable moving around inside the sampler and causing a short circuit. There are a bunch of other cables running behind the display area - you could tie the cable to those, or tie it to one of the metal brackets that run between the front of the chassis and the circuit board.
I'll include a piece of heatshrink tubing in future kits, you can use this to seal / insulate the ends of that cable.
Or
2. Remove the inverter circuit altogether. There are just 2 screws holding the circuit in place. Remove them and you can lift out the whole circuit. Keep that circuit, the old display, and the total of 5 screws (3 from old display, 2 from inverter) somewhere safe in case you want to go back to the old display in future

Ideally I was hoping the leads would pop off of the sockets, but it was somewhat difficult, I didn't want to force it. As I have it now, I zip tied the other lead to prevent it from shorting, is that what is supposed to happen?
