Problem with ASIO driver

When i use the MPC Renaissance ASIO driver there is no sound.
The problem is with the driver, when i use the standard driver it functions perfectly well.
I also have tried using asio4all, which doesnt work either, althought i have no problems with it when using it with live or fruity loops. When using it in the MPC software it shows the red cross that indicates that the channel is being used i believe.

If you want the ASIO driver for the Renaissance you might want to try going in Device Manager and disabling the "HD Audio one". Often times on Windows you have to disable the on board sound for an ASIO driver to work properly.

You may have to toggle the HD one back on to get sound for your media players and web browsers. not sure. I'm offering this as a long time Windows user not a Ren owner.

Many people couldn't get ASIO4All to work with the Ren/Studio although I remember one guy did, but he seemed the minority on that. Keep in mind too that ASIO4All is an emulated ASIO driver that is actually using either the WDM driver of the motherboard HD Audio or the WDM driver of the Renaissance''s interface. It's not a true ASIO driver like the Ren's ASIO driver.

There's also Control Panel/Hardware And Sound/Manage Audio Devices...where you can check to see what Windows sees as the Default Audio Device. On all my windows computers if I disable the motherboard sound and set my ASIO external interface to the default sound device I am able to have my have my interface handle all sound for the entire computer full time.

Not sure that's what you want, or if any of this general info helps, but good luck getting it sorted out.

Thanks for the advice, man. But i tried all these things already and non of it worked for the MPC software. ASIO4ALL still works fine when i try that on other software though. It seems the problem is with the MPC software.

Yeah if you've already tried it with the motherboard sound disabled and the Ren interface as the default device in control panel and all other settings are normal, that's a mystery.

I would try uninstalling the Ren's drivers and restart the computer. I would then disable all audio drivers and then reinstall the Ren's drivers paying close attention and following the installation instructions. I would do all of this under an administrator account of your PC.

Thank you alot, this fixed it. I didnt think of disabling the drivers others before installing the ASIO one.

Always willing to assist fellow Ren/Studio users.....glad the solution worked.

Now if there is a non-Ren driver you still want to use, you can try enabling it..checking to see if it is working properly before enabling another. You 'may' be able to discover what went wrong with your initial installation.

If you don't need any of the other drivers....just enjoy using your Ren/Studio!
