MPC + Looper?

In a workflow crisis:

I've always liked the idea of throwing a looper in the mix with the rest of my gear (MPC 1K, OP-1 and have the Volca Keys & Beats pre-ordered). The main reason I am looking into adding a looper is so I can quickly add organic riffs/sounds/sections right along with the rest of my toys.

I know the MPC has audio tracks but I've not been able to get them to work right... for some reason they feel disconnected. It looks like, to me, adding a looper might be the exact piece my solo stuff has been missing.

Right now I am trying to decide on one... either the RC-500, RC-505, EHX 45000, or an OctaTrack (even though looping is convoluted, the auto-timestretch/tempo match is f*cking amazing for melodic stuff).

Anyone use any of these dedicated loopers in conjunction with their MPCs? I'm not concerned about the OT as I've already owned two of them... have just never had a "real" looper.

Why do you recommend that? I feel that there is something I'm not seeing!

It loops. It is has many other functions as well. I got mine for $250 or $300 I can't remember. From a guy in here. It's a synth, a sampler, a sequencer all in one. Six outputs, great effects, real-time controls.

If you are just looking for a simple loop machine then there are many others.... Yamaha SU-700 (time stretch your samples quick)
Boss RC-505
Boss RC-300

I use the MPC4000 with the MC-909. I had an Octatrack and got rid of it. The analog 4 is a different story altogether though.

@Ian, I'd be curious to know why you got rid of the octatrack?

I thought it was wack! Elektron's way of thinking is not my preferred method. Some people like their approach but it is not for me. Proof was in the pudding, if it doesn't help my creative process then it is on to the next one.
I got it close to the beginning though. I am sure the OS has changed significantly by now. The only reason I bought it was for the triggering capabilities. However I was not enjoying it. MPC4000 was the best move I have made in a long time.
