Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hey Guys,

i've checked the manual and found a tutorial that tried to explain what i want to do, but they don't seem to work for me. So please can anyone give me step by step help?

What i have: A Flash Card inside my MPC with 4 Folders each containing a .PGM file with Drumkits i created on the computer with a software for jamming.

What i want: If i created a jam to work with. I need a way to load these drumkits together with the sequences and tracks i might have made with them + the Settings i had while using them with a single file. (Midi, Individual Outs, etc.)

For example: i've loaded my mc505 .PGM, set the individual outs and the midi setup. Then i jam a bit and im ok with what i did. So before powering of the MPC i want to save my JAM, the MC505 PGM and the Settings into one file.

As far as i have read, this should work via "Save all Programms and Sounds". But if i load my APS again it doesnt save my MIDI Settings and or Tracks/Seuqneces.

Which way do i have to go to save my stuff?

Thanks in advance,

Best West

There is no single file on mpc2000/xl
You need to save and load "all sequences and songs" as well as "all programs and sounds". Two separate files.

So Sequence and songs saves which pad plays when while all programs and sounds saves settings and which kit i used?

Because my MPC never saves my Midi Settings.

2kxl/2k cannot read across folders.
You'll have to save all project stuff in 1 folder, no sub folders.

ex. A project folder should contain

APS = all programs and sounds
ALL = songs, seqs, mixer settings.
All associated WAV, SND.

Yep. And don't rename files AFTER SAVING. APS will remember the saved file names and thats what it will be looking for when loading again. If you rename something then you need to resave that APS.
