Help needed with SCSI to connect to PC to MPC

My son has brought a mpc2000xl and wants to connect to my pc to save and edit sounds. I brought a Fast SCSI-2 card which my pc has picked up via a 50 pin cable, and i have installed the drivers for it. However according to recycle it can't find the MPC. The card says it's terminated as (i think) is the MPC. The SCSI number of both the card and MPC I think are different. Am I being completely thick here??
Any help plus some help on using the MPC with Acid, cool edit pro or cue base would also be appreciated as I've no idea what he's on about and he's doesn't understand anything to do with pc's!

MPC2000xls don't work with computers like that. Tell your son if he wants to connect a computer and a MPC, sell the 2000xl and get a 1000. The 1000 connects via USB.

Ah, so is using the midi connections the way to go? I'm still a bit confused as when he brought it the seller showed us it working through his PC using recyle and also gave us a SCSI card! Is the CSSI just for an external hard drive or Zip then?

Easiest way to transfer samples between pc and mpc is via a zip. Add usb zip drive to your pc save the samples to zip. Put zip in zip drive of MPC and bob's your uncle.
