unless you visualize exactly how your beat is going to sound in the final mix
That is a good point. It seems like the 2000 xl has high pass filter
So just yeterday i was sampling off a record into my 3000. While the kick was clear i found a snare which i really liked but was layere with the kick.
I cut the lows on my mixer and sampled in my 3000. I was surprised how good it sounded. I was going to layer it in my mix with the kick as well as use it separately. So i needed it pretty much clean. The 3000 has only low pass filter by the way
I'm rather new to sampling records in my 3000 as i have just completed my setup recently. I read a lot about eq ing before sampling and now it makes sense to me. I really like it. You have to try it out
Of course you can cut the lows and eq when mixing if you choose to track out on the spot but as i only want to track out when all sounds good on the mpc i want my samples to be sitting nice in the 3000. That way it makes you make decisions and stick to them. Its nice
