Congrats bro! Someone had to take it :)

Hope i get a good deal here too.

Thanks fellas! Ya if you're patient enough and just keep looking you'll come up. I just happened to get really lucky I guess.

But I'm not so sure how lucky I really got now as If I can't get my SP figured out I might have to take it to Forat. I'm having a couple of problems maybe someone can help.

I finally got it setup and situated. Turned it on, let it do the start up process, loading sounds, etc. It boots and I'm in but I'm not getting any sound at all when I hit on any of the drum pads. Aren't there supposed to be some stock sounds or something? I was plugged into the mix out but got a hum as well as the mix volume pot is scratchy. I tried some of the other outs as well, no dice. Just a hum which some of them the hum being louder than another.

oh, I knew there were sounds that were loaded from the disk but I always thought there were some stock sounds that were in the memory or something but I guess not then?

I figured there were cause I saw that you can buy eproms with 808 sounds so I just assumed there were stock sounds cause I remembered reading something about erasing the eproms regarding stock sounds?

Sp heads!
Does anyone know how to set any compressor to compress like sp1200? I know it can sound funny but as far as I went through sp knowledge every out has the same compressor settings. I would like to do the same in my gear but i can't figure out what would be universal settings of attack, relese, thres etc.
Can any of you help?

SP1200 doesn't have a compressor.

Not really sure it has a compressed sound at all, or that using a compressor is going to give you an SP1200 sound.

"Nothing sounds more punchy and raw than a real sp1200 mpc 60 or studio 440. emulations just don't do the trick. do you want that instant classic oldschool hiphop , electro or house sound on your samples or drums ? but you dont have the money for vintage samplers ? we will sample and playback any sound for you ! we will make 16 samples sound as punchy and warm as possible. (this could be 16, 2.5 sec samples containing 200 drum sounds for example) we can record the 16 sounds at different pitches so you get a wide range of sounds to play with. Instant nostalgia for only 5 bucks ! We will deliver within 1 day ! "

Doesn't seem to be any photos of the SSM2044 filter replacement daughterboard in the later SP1200s.
