Selling MPC Ren to Guitar Center

Has anyone sold their MPC Ren to a Guitar Center or any other retail chain throughout the United States? If so, how much did you get for the product?

If Ren/Studio is working for the user, why are they selling their units?

Are they simply looking to buy the next new product? Seems like these individuals never liked the product if that is the case? Or is it simply an investment thing having nothing to do with making music?

you would be a lot better off selling on Craigslist. when you sell to GC you generally get about half of retail. so right now that would be $500 or less

I merely asked what the product is fetching if one did sell their unit. This is a inquiry of their outcome. I do not wish to sell my units, my friend. No one has the money that I would charge for my units.

GC would probably give you $50 for it, my friend.

I wouldn't pay $1000 for a controller, you think GC will?

GC pays five cents for every dollar Ren is worth.

Probably 400-500.

Street prices are down around/below $750 new, can't see them paying $500 for a second hand unit, having to then put their own markup on it when they sell it on.

Right... so they may offer somewhere around 250-300, give or take, then mark it up to their used, sale price. (We speculating but we know they trying to make money on it, and street prices have dropped on NEW)

Just sell it on eBay. You can do a BIN for $600 and sell it within a day or so. You'll be lucky to see $200 from GC.

It's 50-60% of the current used price not retail.
They have to be able to resell it so they look at the used market.

This dude is right on....^^^^^^ I went into a GC and had a nice tricked out MPC2500 and the dude acted like i brought in a monkey in a box...He had this look on his face of complete discuss... He was like oh a MPC we dont take those and he went to his manager and came back and ask what i wanted for it. I was looking to trade it in and get a ren and pay the what ever the difference would be. He was like the most I could give you is 50 bucks for it.....It took all my humanity not to punch him in the mouth...50 dollars are you kidding me... I laughed and left with my 2500 went home put it on ebay for 950 and it sold in 1 hour...50 bucks.. so the moral of the story is GC is a joke when it comes to selling or trading equipment....

One thing I noticed by your answers is that no one had a definitive answer.

This means not as many people are selling their Rens/Studios as some have speculated.

No, it doesn't.

I don't think that people selling used MPC controllers to GC is an indication of the 2nd hand market in any way.

GC would not be the first place most people turn to when selling gear.
