Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

The more the price of the Renaissance drops, the more I feel my $1299+tax was worth. This despite the fact that the damn thing sits in a closet while a 2000XL is still the only hardware or software capable of being inspiring to my mind.

Supporting a 21st century iteration of what brought so much music into the world is the reason a premium was paid over what the market would show to bear.

With the many complaints aired, take note that Numark is dumping good money after bad in an attempt to create something great. Software development ain't easy folks.

No chance in hell this product line is profitable, but there's a reason you find yourself reading this.

There is a great window of opportunity for AKAI to push forward with Ren/Studio. The drop in price makes it a great contender for those who desired the products but did not have the euros to purchase.

Everyone that has the units seems to love them beyond other machines.

The community of users may grow in the next few months, my friends!

It surely makes sense bro.

You surely are off your head. You spent $1300 on a machine which sits in your cupboard and a year later can be purchased for almost half what you paid...and you're saying it's a good thing.

Sounds like lunacy to me.

pretty normal reaction IMO. Many people show this behaviour when they try to get over mistakes and build them in a kind of weird view of reality to sound not so bad or get over embarresment.
I was on a flea maket last year and there was this Joe Tex LP with "Papa was too". I was like "WOW nice. I need that break" and paid 7 EUR for that LP (I usually never pay something over 2,50 EUR for a LP. So there has to be something really special that I pay 7 EUR for).
At home I thought "damn, :hmmm: why did I bought this record??? for 7 EUR??" cause I remebered that I got the "That's Soul" Compilation with "Papa was too" on it :WTF:
:Sigh:
The next few hours I tried to put lipstick on a pig.

Hey I payed 7EUR. The record HAS TO BE something special. It's really worth the prize and the seller was a nice guy who deserve good money

peace

Although I use my 5000 to this day, I still feel slighted by the support dropped for it the way it was.

In time, I think most people will feel this way about this current MPC incarnation, whether they release a v2 controller, or move on to something else all together. And justification is often a sign of the impending feeling of being slighted.

OP, not saying you feel this way, but sounds like you are on the "feeling slighted" path. Accept it, embrace it, make peace with it. LOL. Just giving you a hard time.

But seriously, how can you be okay with paying that much for something and sitting it in a box? Like I always say, consumerism is an interesting thing these days... just figuring out what I can sell to the masses. LOL

I can't say I feel justified...like I said the money has gone into a black hole and people who would in theory be the biggest proponents of the software see little but flaws. Which I understand- as I also said, I don't even use the thing at this point.

I'm really happy for people on this board who use the software every day and swear by it. Shit like makes me confident it wasn't money thrown away. For anyone still reaching for an understanding of my words, that's the closest you'll get to a synopsis.

Ever seen or used Reason 1.0 or Rebirth (are they the same thing??)? People paid good money for it, got what they could out of it and saw a team through it's development. Years later it only in structure resembles what it started out as.

Have a little faith in the team that's come as far as they have with this. If not for them you could still be arguing the merits of a 45lb 4000, sh!ttily built 1000's and 2500's running a barely cohesive JJOS or the 5000...which doesn't look like that bad of a deal. Except it's still hulking. No one wants that.

Oh yea....and you have to track....just details though. :Sigh:

Glad you mention Reason 1.0.

Propellerheads treats his customers with almost free upgrades of his flagship software.

We're not talking bugfixes here. It's a bit as if Akai Professional was taking back old hardware to replace it with new line for a symbolic fee.

EXCEPT THAT VERY FEW PEOPLE WOULD TRADE THEIR MPC FOR A REN!

(Not even you, since you're holding on a 2KXL after PAYING premium price for the controller)

PEACE
