I've been makng beats with the xl for years and switched to maschine n maschine kills it in every way. Head and shoulders better then the mpc

Not the place for that, lol

Maschine is far better, it makes no sense to me to spend over 400 onna xl when I can get a maschine for around the same price.

But I understand, I shoudnt have said that in a forum where ppl r in such denial about gear.

I get it, ur progrAmmed to think an mpc and hardwRe is more hip hop and more "the culture"

To put the record straight, I've used Maschine. I had it for a year and a few months and sold it because I found myself using Recycle, Logic and my midi-keys way more. I don't have anything against it, it's just not what I'm looking for right now. It's not about being programmed to anything, people are only programmed to what they want to be programmed to. Maschine being better? My ass. And no, I won't say MPC is better either. It all comes down to three things, what a person wants, prefers and needs. Most Maschine users that I know tend to say Maschine is better because of its integration with software, and all these functions that a person won't get with hardware because you now have the power of a computer. But more functions doesn't mean better production, my friend.

It's a 2000XL Discussion. Not a Maschine discussion. Not a Roland MV discussion. Not a MPC4000 discussion. It's not about Super Nintendo Emulators, Playstations or XBOX's.

And "the culture" has nothing to do with samplers. Having an MPC does not make you a Hip Hoppa.

Won't see me in the MPC5000 forum telling people to switch from regular cigarettes to menthol. Cigarettes have nothing to do with a 5000.

As I said, I have nothing against what others use. Not sure what's up with so many people on here and that. Won't make you any better if you get people to use what you use. Of course no one wants to see what they love get knocked. Not even trying to knock your Maschine. I think it's dope honestly.

It's the internet, don't get so easily defensive. I don't even exist :nod:

Just get something you will enjoy more. Surely if you think that 2kxl makes you Hip Hoppa, then grap it! The most important thing on producing, is to press the power on button when you go home. Thats the reason i will even suggest you an out of box set up. Besides you can make music with all of them, you will always need more and pc/mac is a big trap of wasting time in the way of use. If you are making music to relax and enjoy your beats the classic would be enough and cheap. If you wanna produce music for a digital release would be enough too. The difference is on producing music to make a record, then you should have the option to get your tracks seperated and go to a studio for mixing and mastering.

I haven't decided what to go for yet, and I just figured it gon' take even longer time to save up because my rent is going up 170 dollars each month this semester. I figured that out today. Thats a big ass downer.

But yeh, I make records. I produce, then rap over them, and mix them in my bedroom. No possible way to afford studio time, lol.
