Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

Is it normal for the MPC Renaissance to show nothing but MPC on the screen when it's turned on? I thought it would eventually go away and turn to the "main" screen but no luck. The knobs on the left light and scroll AKAI, the pads light up from dim to bright and the other buttons light up from left to right, but the screen seems stuck. Please help! Thanks!

It is a USB-MIDI controller, and USB audio/MIDI interface, it doesn't do anything by itself, you need to connect it with a USB cable to a computer, and install the drivers and MPC Software on the computer, for it to work.

You can download the driver/software installer from the MPC Renaissance page on the http://www.akaipro.com website, along with the Reference Manual and Quickstart Guide...

It came with the main driver/software/content installation DVD, along with 4 Expansion Pack (software instrument plugin) installation DVDs.

Download them all from the following link, install them, then update both the drivers/software, as well as the Expansion Packs, to the latest versions (either downloaded yourself or through the automatic update process in the software)...

It will also need to automatically activate the installation with an Akai server over the internet. They come with 4 available installations/activations, or something like that. When the limit is reached, the activations can be reset by Akai, you just have to send them a request to do so.

That will work until you need to get a new computer. At that point you'll end up having to re-register it which will require a connected Ren or Studio.
