welcome back.
just to get this out of the way - will there be any special discount for early adopters - maybe a screen swap or something?
are any of the pieces reusable?

i think either way is understandable, just curious.

thanks and welcome back - here's to much success.

We have not seen any reply on the forums for the past year, and it was mentioned that the developer posted a message on his Facebook page saying that everything was stolen by a contractor who was working for them, or some story, so it is not sounding promising.

Screens are problems these days.

My MP's screen is kinda burnt out and has 2 lines. MPCStuff told me that I couldn't get it cheaper than $165. How the **** I'm supposed to pay $165 on a screen when I bought 2K with 8 Outs & SMPTE for $299 :D

That's a good deal there. You can always sell the 2K, 8 outs, and SMPTE separately and get more than $299 in return. Then you can put that money towards another MPC. Or you can try and find another 2K cheap for parts, and take the screen from there. Either way, it's gonna take a little time and effort to get what you want.

Considering the availability. Sounds fair to me.

Wait a few years when I start selling off the 30 LCD's I've got for $400 a peice

That's hailarous xD ^

But really only 2 lines is not burned out. I shouldn't have clowned you like that without saying this first. But it holds true about value. Like what is it worth to keep your machine going. When these things get lower in quanity and higher in demand, for a business has to take advantage.

A business has 1 primary pourpouse. To make money.

And before anymore PM's, I dont have a stock pile of LCD's it's bare jokes

News from MPC-STUFF

"Just wanted to drop you a line and let you know we are still working on the screens and hoping to finish them up soon. We still have no exact availability dates. We just wanted to reiterate that the project is not dead even though it has taken us A LOT longer than expected."

Should help ease some minds a bit. So I guess they've taken over the project?

Well the good news anyway is, it's not a dead project.

For me honestly, I wouldn't care if it took another 2 years. The fact someone has such ambition is pretty cool. And, gives reasonable hope for the future of the 2K/XL

speak of the devil, i got an email today from them saying they're still working on them, just having to do more than expected because of high demand. no word on pricing though nor an eta.

More details in the coming weeks. The display manufacturing have a 6 week lead time which puts us in the Feb-March time frame after the programming / physical design is finalized.
