what after the mpc?

Ive recently bought an mpc 4000. It does a lot. To me it seems to do everything I would want. Some people seem to prefer what computer software can do. For example generally people are saying the effects are crap on the mpc.

Does anyone know of the advantages of doing some stuff on an mpc and then pulling it into programs like logic or reason? I guess that with the other mpc's tere isnt enough memory to do everything on them. I know that people like to make beats on the 3000 and then do the rest in logic.

Can ayone tell me what extra benefits, if any, computer software can give me?

Well, the software programs like (Sonar, Logic, Protools) will give you alot more flexibility than what the mpc alone can give you, for ex. in Sonar I can record audio (a verse, a drum, whatever) and set up all the audio\midi to automaticly sync with whatever tempo or key change that I may make in the song. You also have access to hundreds of different types of effects ( from mic modelers, multiband compressors, to soft synths like FM7) to be able to manipulate your audio or add to it. Sometimes I'll use the Vsampler, that comes with Sonar 3, for my sampler and just use the mpc as a sequencer only. Software is alot more powerful than the mpc4000 but I like the hands on that the mpc gives me, and I find, for me, that a good combination of both the mpc and software works best. Peace.

i think that using both the mpc and software together is great because you can make your skelton on the mpc and then take the software syth's and programs like cubase and protools, etc to make it more interesting. it just gives you more options. to me that is
