Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

They pretty much managed that with the MPC1000 IMO (eventually, when they sorted the pads, shame about the jog wheel), but in 2015 I'd be happy to see a mid-sized standalone MPC running Windows Embedded with a touch optimised version of the MPC Software on top of it.

Not fussed about fancy integration with my computer, just want something that plugs into the power socket and lets me crack on. Would be good to have wifi data syncing (with dropbox option!) and USB 3.0 'in' and 'out'. HDMI out. The rest is all about the app that runs in the MPC and a decent set of sensitive pads.

I'm simply not interested in buying yet another bug ridden monster workstation for £1500, I don't see the value. Keep the price sensible and accessible. £500 region (e.g. $700).

Yep, unfortunate we haven't see such device by Akai in a while.

The focus is on too many gimmick devices. They should have multiple divisions. So they can focus on high-end products for professional use, within that division. And another for gimmicks and toys. Inmusic is a large company. They should be able to achieve this,...I think...?

go sit on a tack. :vomit:

I'm not into that, we aren't all as freaky as you. But I assume you're a female, or perhaps a very "feminine male", since you have such way of thinking :Sigh:

Anyway, as I have stated before:

Fusing Akai Professional's legendary MPC layout and workflow with the power of your computer, MPC Renaissance is the unrivaled instrument for music production. The new flagship MPC is a fully integrated hardware/software system [...]

Designed in collaboration with producers and artists from around the world, MPC Renaissance maintains the beloved workflow and layout of classic MPCs. - See more at:

So I still don't see what I've stated wrongly in my previous posts. And I think you don't either, so you can rant on... And neither is the 5000 in the legacy collection. So requesting the OS 3.0 is not misplaced.

one should make a poll here where voters can provide information on their current occupation. i guess almost all of us are hobby musicians.

If they go headlong into using a touchscreen as one of the main input controls, with a jog wheel still being essential for finer edits, I think they need to give serious consideration to switching the jog and transport to the left.

You would need your most dextrous hand for the touchscreen (pinch to zoom, x/y edits etc) with your lesser hand on the fixed controls. As 90% of us are right handed it'd make sense to switch it so we're not tying ourselves in knots when working with both hands.

Basically what the MPC 4000 is with the exception of being windows-based.

One could do that, but we already know the outcome of that one, since most musicians are hobby musicians. However, at some point you go from low end gear to mid or high end with a purpose. As you develop. Most pro musicians started out as amateurs.

Perhaps the reason why you don't understand this, is because the Roland SP606 was priced at around 600 dollars, now 200 dollars. And is not a flagship device. You have a hobby device, for a hobby price!

While the MPC 5000 is a flagship device, prized at around a few thousand dollars, and still is close to $.2000.

And the MPC Ren was boosted as a flagship as well, with a price tag of over a thousand dollars.

Aber Danke für den link.

Why get a Dbeat when you can use a Laptop and a MPD32?

That thing was a waste
