Interesting times for sure, but as they said in the above SonicTalk the stuff here is more evolutionary (what people have been waiting for) than revolutionary. Glad to see it finally taking shape now and at the same time giving Apple some competition too. It's all to the benefit of the end-user.
I took the "end of this year" meaning the MS's "embedded systems"-thingy launch or something... not talking about the mpc there.
Apple already has Logic Remote. All this needs is a dedicated IO-hardware controller (25key keyboard, drum pads, sliders and knobs, preamps, audio-midi USB hub), with some additional development in the software. And it's a wrap. Audiobus 2 has just been release.

In terms of Apple competition,
After seeing the "Microsoft devices keynote" I now see that Apple is behind Microsoft. Apple only just started with semi-embedded systems for cars. While Microsoft is using many layers, for development platforms.
Btw, I'm almost sure Roland will now come back with a new MV. So indeed, inserting times are ahead.
