@hellfire. are u working for nuakai, or just testing?? yea, the BT was hella pricey when it dropped, but how much was the ren when it dropped?? u can get BT for around 600ish now.. i can't lie, if the BT was stable i would get one, but u are really taking a gamble with it,… I'm trying to not take sides, i don't own a Ren, i have a machine mikro, an old one, i mostly rock my 500 and would consider myself a reason power user, so I'm all stocked up, built my own controller for reason even. the akai software looks fun, and i think it would be cool if akai sold just the software alone and you could midi any mpc to it to control the pads and play, stop and record. that would be a true hybrid. i midi synced my 500 to the jj sequencer on an old pc and shit loaded my seq and programs from the usb, then i could jam with my 500 pads via midi in jj sequencer.. man the possibilities are endless, if jj sequencer had stayed in development we would all have hybrid mpcs, kinda makes u think jj might have gotten paid by Akai to stop development. so if Akai made the software where u could use any midi controller with the software it would be sick for hardware owners..just my 2 cents..

What up bro?! Nah, I'm not on any payroll. Just a user testing, thoroughly, with the rest of the team to make sure this thang is right! I think most people will be very happy with some of the work we've been putting in and that the moral of this product might finally turn around. :-D

As far as the Ren price, it was $1299 new, so I can imagine that a true hybrid MPC would likely be $2000+. But that's just my guess. Production resources are so cheap now that I can't really see too many people willing to spend that much. But who knows?!

I hope the testing goes well and fine.

What understand from the Pete tweet, is that the update is basically done.
And it's now on a beta level. So, I assume that you're one of the beta testers.

Dude, first of all, you need to slow your damn roll.
Second of all, I didn't test 1.5.
Third, even if I did, beta testers ultimately have no control over when the software is released and as with any software development, more minor bugs or known issues sometimes have to be left over to later updates for the sake of getting more major bug fixes out.
Fourth, I wasn't saying that the software is buggy (although all software has bugs). I was giving the reasons the guy was crying for. 1.6 is very stable for me and many users have reported the same.

Yo thanks Hellfire for taking the time to beta test. I"m sure it's fun but takes time to do too. Looking forward to the update.

Back to the beats, thinking about sampling some Roberta Flack.
