Turntables without a Ground

He guys I need some help here...
Do you know of any turntables without a ground and only phono?
Or do you know if I can just ground the turntable to any piece of metal?

I have seen them, can't remember make/model though, but they are available.

Are you plugging it into a phono input, to get the correct sound?

Explicit I've heard of people just grounding it to a metal water pipe or radiators etc. I've never tried it so I can't guarantee it works as I ground my turntable into my mixer. Maybe someone here has done it?

Yes, I think it was some sort of Numark. :nod: :smoker:

I have seen others attach the ground wire onto a metal part of the chassis on whatever they are plugging it into, an existing screw on bare metal, for example.

Make sure that you are running a phono output from a turntable into a phono input on whatever you are plugging it into, so that it has the correct RIAA de-emphasis EQ curve applied to it, or if running a phono output into a line input, apply that curve in a DAW plugin or similar, so that the turntable output sounds correct.

My Stanton STR-8 150 has a line or regular phono with ground connection.

I think that will work fine.

4 foot metal rod taped into earth with rock salt tightly around it, piss on the surrounding earth, connect end of rod to tt ground with braided metal wire, good to go. :lol:

Well done Coz I thought there was another model that was internally grounded but couldn't remember for the life of me what it was.

I was serious, lol. That's what we had to do sometimes in Iraq/Afg for comms gear in vans. We'd run multiple braided wires directly into the mobile center.

Perfectly grounded, re-piss every few hours.

Pretty sure you don't want one of THOSE ground holes on the side of your crib with braided wire running into your studio.

Most Numarks are internally grounded. Any metal matter will do, but if there is paint over it, be sure to scrap it off to the shiny metal for better contact. And yes I have grounded turntables to a bicycle.

Audio-Technica AT-LP120, it has phono/line outs and no ground plus it has USB (which i never used). I like it a lot.
