So I bought another mpc500 and everything works fine on batteries but the power supply doesn't seem to work.Ive ordered a new one,but just for my own peace of mind...is there a scenario where the mpc would work on batteries but NOT work on any power supply plugged into it,even a new one?The input for the chord seems fine and the supply I have seems to fit nice and snug,it just doesn't work and Im hoping its just the power supply otherwise Im going to have to send the machine back and get yet another 500(Im on my second one after the first I bought wouldn't read the cf card).
thanks for the help guys!

Check the specs on the 500. Then check the specs of the AC adaptor. What they say?

the adaptor I order has 1000ma output…could it be that the current adaptor isn't giving out enough power?Like I said in my previous post the adaptor I have only gives out .75a….that could be the issue….

Well everything looks good. It could be the output current as you pointed. Usually things this small are at mA500 to 1700.

On my adaptor reads mA500 btw. Check out an electronic store and bring the 500 along so the clerk can decipher which adaptor you need.

EDIT: OH I read the output as .075 my bad.

You good on the adaptor. Replace it and if that doesn't work you either need to solder a loose wire or get it inspected by an electrician to do the job.

Yeah I checked and the adaptor works...it powers other devices I have and not the mpc. How much would a repair be and where can I get this done?

I was wrong,it was the power supply! It may have powered other devices but it didn't the MPC.But the replacement supply I bought off of Amazon worked fine...and I was almost ready to pack up the 500 and mail it to CA to be repaired and it would have prob cost me at least a 80 bucks when you factor in shipping!Glad I waited....
