This has happened before but it stopped and I thought it was all good.

Everytime I sample and I'm getting into it chopping very small and detailed up to 80 or more chops the damn thing restarts, and when it comes back the program displays ?? Then the monitor option when recording is turned off.. :?

I got my mpc off eBay a few years back its also an SE but it has a green screen.

I have not messed with the os or any updates since I've gotten it.

Does it have a Special Edition plate on it?

There was also a white Limited Edition version, which came with the green LCD...

yes it has the plate number 59/500

but this is odd it had never happened before since ive had it for about 2 years then like 3 months ago it happened alot in one day then i turned it off and its been fine ever since.

then yesterday i chopped a sample into a bunch of little pieces and it rebooted, i swear it only happens when i get really into it.

which has been about 3 times

If it has a RAM expansion board, maybe try reseating it.

it doesnt happen often but it usually does it when i get really into chopping.

made sure the ram is in place too.

it works great most of the time its just when i actually get serious it messes up.

:Sigh:

sounds like it could be a ram issue to me too

also could be a heatsoak problem, as in thats why it takes as long as it does to manifest... which is why i put a fan in my mpc 1000. it used to have problems when it was warm. now it doesnt.

sometimes a conventional hdd will require a jolt when it spins up thats too much for the power supply (along with the screen and any DSP stuff going on etc). this is why i replaced mine with a micro-sd in adapters. no heat, minimal power requirments, no spinup = happy mpc

its not jjos, im pretty sure.
