Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

Mpc software should stay expert in creating midi based music.
At least it should have everything on board that is needed on the creative part.
Mastering and vocal-edit, recording, mixing is the DAW Part.
That s where a daw is the expert, no mpc buisness...

5 top features in my opinion:
Side chain
A new top notch Plugin Bundle ( Compressor, eq, reverb, tape, Multieffect)
Realtime timestretch, pitchshift
More sample edit options like in the Old akai/ensoniq.. samplers
The option to let the mixer always open on a second screen.
And of course all the small things that were already mentioned before

Update:
Compressor Eq integrated in the pgm Mixer or pgm Mode would be better then an updated Plugin Bundle.
I mean it like you always have eq and Compressor for every pgm, like tune Filter and envelope..

pad a01 is a envelope amp generator that controls my drum pgms volume... I sequence with pad events when i want the drum pgm volume to "duck" with just midi notes... pad 02 mite be a a filter cutoff envelope .. This could be linked to your sample piano pgm... get the drift?

perhaps filter and amp per sample layer rather than just each pad...

This "macro" pad idea would be an awesome feature. Hope Akai considers it.

I doubt Akai see it as every previous MPC feature HAS to be implemented.

I think they started with a basic set of hardware MPC functionality for MPC Software, from what I heard mentioned by them early on, which would have been what they considered to be the basics that should be included.

Who knows if they plan to implement everything that has been in a hardware MPC in the past, but I wouldn't be surprised if they do not plan to.

true.

unless they are really cool functions that old mpcs had and would make mpc ren then those functions should be added. ppl who have the ren and have used old mpc's should make a list and have everyone push for old features they like to be implemented.

ppl have been doing that for the last two+ years, that is exactly what these sort of threads are about.

Better Plug In Scanner. Better stability. 1.6 stability was solid as a rock when it was released. far less crashes. they need to improve the scanner which is very important because well...we need to use our plug ins... :hmmm:

I want the actual mixer shown on the LCD screen like the stand alone MPC's as
well as on the computer screen and that's all I want..... I agree with the fact that MPC software
Should be it's own badass DAW, but who knows if they keep working at it, it might just
Get there, I myself Thrive on the limitations and have done a song in every version of mpc software
I mean It's kinda like back in the day.... if you had a 60 that was your ****until the 3000 dropped then you was like oh my god think of what I could do with that compared to this... So it's really nothing new just make music and drop some tracks to each other and remember opinions are like ***holes they got no place in music.

"It's a whole sequencer/sampler able to make full songs...".... :hmmm: Has been that way since MPC 60. But that doesn't mean it's not an instrument. Roland Fantom fits the same description, and it's still in the "instrument" category. But it hasn't been a DAW... What I'm saying is that I prefer that the MPC stay closer to its roots, not keep moving toward DAW land. The chance of being able to do the same DAW functions as Logic, in any near future, is nil. They could make this the best MPC *instrument* ever, but if they keep moving it toward a DAW, it will just dilute the product with features and functions that DAWs have been able to for years. It just doesn't seem like a good spend of resources to me.

And am I happy with using it as a plugin? No, it stinks as a plugin - not trying to be sour - just saying.

But I get what you're saying. Just different perspectives. And I'm not going to influence what Akai does anyway, so I just keep pushing for what I want - instrument stuff, not daw stuff. I have a daw already.

ALL OF THIS.

There is no way the MPC software will EVER be as good a DAW as any of the good DAWs out there. Period. With only a handful, if that, people working on it and one main guy, Pete, this is impossible. Also, DAWS like Logic, Ableton, and PT have been building their software for years, decades even, and are extremely advanced at this point. With that said, if you want a good DAW, there is NO shortage of options to chose from.

There is though, only ONE MPC. IMO, Akai should focus on making the MPC software the BEST MPC ever which includes featuring ALL of the legacy MPC features as well as some extra bells and whistles here and there. At it's core, the MPC software should be an MPC, and the BEST MPC, FIRST.

And that is why I created this tread: viewtopic.php?f=45&t=174450

Akai has THEIR OWN lane. They should stay in that lane and cultivate it rather than trying to sloppily get into other people's lanes at the expense of a good MPC product.

I'm one of those new customers you speak of. I purchased MPC Studio from Guitar Center yesterday because of the software improvements.

2.0? I want to see a lot of stuff before 2.0. Some things are rather 'small in terms of what others want... For example, since I got my studio at 1.4, I have been wanting to not only audition, but delete from the browser view...
