what you want to do. The question is not very clear (at least I don't understand it)
Sending and/or receiving sysex is very common on MIDI gear. Some devices have a special menu for this, others start to read (or send) only if another device send a kind of "start transmitting/receiving" message.

hey spliff,
yes, i do have a computer - but all my sysex files are recorded on the MPC4k ; it's just (among others) a data filer !!
-it's transfer is more reliable then my compu-midi interface (MIDIox-Tascam FW1884)-

so can it or can it not? (read sysex files) or can i convert from .syx to .mid and load it that way ?

BCR2000 is coming today ; eager to convert into zaquencer....

have a nice day,
jay

yes you can convert to midi. i have never used my mpc to send sysex. it worked a charm using my computer and my firebox midi, also maschine's midi port worked.

good luck
