Hard drive fail - Mutha fu*cka!!

So last night I thought to my self "I'll back up my HDD". You know, in case it ever crashes. So it gets about half way through & guess what?
Yes, it freezes. I left it for so long but nothing so I was forced to turn it off. Now it's not recognizing the HDD..... Works fine without it in.
I tried another HDD but it doesn't like that either & freezes & stalls when I try getting to the load screen while it's installed.
What a pain the arse. I think technology hates me.

try putting it in the freezer for a bit, no joke

Okaaaaaaay, before I went putting anything in the freezer I had one more trick up my sleeve. I reinstalled JJOS but still nothing. So then I did something I thought I'd never do... installed the Akai os. And it worked??!!! So I was able to rescue my files, great!
Then I thought I'd try putting JJOS back on & its working again?????
Strange. MPC's are funny machines.
But I'm still gonna get a new HDD, just in case.

Ok, I'm gonna bump this thread again cos I need some help...
Shortly after saying that it was working....it stopped working.

Iv been content with using a CF card but now I want my HDD back. Iv tried various other HDD's in there & every time I turn it on it freezes on the start-up screen.
Iv tried loading other OS's but no joy this time. Iv cleaned in there as best as I can but still nothing.
Any suggestions? Could it be my HDD connector bit do you think?
Any help would be appreciated.

if it's not picking up any hard drives sounds like possible faulty connector, you didnt bend anything inside the case ?

All the connecting bits look ok to me. I can't see anything physically wrong.
Is it possible the HDM-10 could of shorted or something?

Just gonna bump this thread again.....
My HDD has been behaving until recently. The machine keeps resetting when I have a HDD installed.
Iv tried every thing, including new hard drives.
Everything works a treat when I take the HDD out. Its so weird & is kinda driving me mad. Obviously I want a HDD drive.

Any one have any ideas? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Did you ever get a new drive for it? Or still using the same one? It's nothing special. Just a 2.5" laptop HDD

Yeah, Iv tried a few different drives. Every time I have a HDD installed the machine freezes or randomly resets.
Works perfectly with just the CF card though, its so weird
