mpc2000 s950 combo

Hello fellas,
I need some help with midi thing between them.

The setup is clear:
turntable to s950 and mpc2000 midi out to s950 midi in. The problem is that i do something wrong and i really dont understand what it is but i cant setup midi thing.

Is there any chance someone to tell me exactly step by step how to setup correctly midi between s950 and mpc2000. The one thing that i am sure that is ok is that midi cable is correctly put.

I will appreciate even links where i could read about this connection, but i want someone who use this kind of setup to explain me. Thank a lot!

Well is the track on the mpc set to trigger the right midi output and channel? And is the 950 set up to accept midi on the same channel?

Check your OMNI/POLY settings on the MIDI page of your S950.

oh yeah great tip... really we would need to know more info to actually know what is going wrong here.

On the main screen of the mpc. switch drum to midi
than one section to the right you change to the right midichannel.


In the MIDI section (shift-9) select the midi output you connected to the s950. A or B or both AB.

The problem was that my preset program with key groups was corrupted, it is some kind of floppy problem. I preset everything and now its working.

btw i have another question. When you are recording sample in S950 where you plug cable in front Mic or Line ? Then when you set the input method in REC section do you use only analog ?
