syncing midi to daw issue..need help

Having an issue when syncing my MPC 2000 to my daw (ableton). I have it all synced via midi clock out MPC into ableton, and that all works well. But when I play midi notes from my mpc into ableton, they cut off quickly, like staccato mode, no matter how long i hold the note down. anyone know whats up with that?
