Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hey guys.

I saw other posts about buttons not working, but my case seems to be a bit different.

So I cannot use F5, which is quite necessary for loading a sample. Since I got my MPC it has not been working, but today I made it work for 5 minutes. It seems that some of the buttons do not fully protrude out of the top case. I held/pressed the top case a bit in while pressing the F5 button which made it work for a short while.

The other buttons that do not fully protrude out work 100% - also without holding the top case in. My question is if it might be a loose connection in the tact switches that connect the F5 button? It seems to be a bit buggy in some way since i can make it work for 5 minutes by pressing/holding in the top case.

What would you suggest? A reparation of the F5 button or?

Best

I think that you probably need to open it up, and check the F5 button to see why it is not protruding fully.

Maybe the plastic hinges that hold the button top in place have broken, and you need to replace the plastic button top part.

Maybe the plastic pin/shaft underneath the button top, that presses onto the tact switch, is not aligned properly with the tact switch.

Maybe the tact switch is dirty, and needs replacement (desolder switch/solder in new switch), though the button not protruding fully points to something else instead (or as well as).

Sorry for not answering this, guys. Thanks for helping out. It turned out to be a dirty tact switch. I replaced it by following the instructions given på JVC!

Thanks again

Chris
