Hey guys,

first post alright, happy to be part of the gang.

So here's the thing:

It really seems to me automation inside the Ren is completely broken at code level.
If this is true you might be in for some bad suprises when you push a hours through a project
and later find out your automation is gone and you have no idea why that is.

I found that out the hard way.
I have posted this on the Akai Forums, got nil response yet.
So I'd like to know if somebody can crosscheck if this is indeed a major, major bug
or something else system specific on my side.

Hey there.

OSX 10.9.5, Ren V 1.82

Steps to reproduce:

Insert a plugin. Automate it. Insert some plugins after the automated one.
Remove any plugins that were added after the first one.
The automation will get deleted.

(To be clear: Of course you do NOT delete the plugin that has the automation on it.
I am talking about the automation being deleted, even if you remove
a plugin that has nothing to do with the automation.)

Can somebody of you guys crosscheck this and let me know?

I wouldn't be too suprised by the way if this bug is there since a couple of versions back,
maybe from the very beginning, because it seems like not a lot of people
use the RENs automation capabilities. So that might have slipped even the beta-testing all the time.

If anybody is interested *at all* in this: Akai replied to me yesterday and confirmed that this is indeed a bug.

So *if* you use a lot of automation (or any automation at all), you might want to keep that in mind before you break your project.

Good to know. I will be picking up my Renn in a roughly a month. Looking forward to "native" automation just about more than anything else. Tracking out to experiment can kill my flow pretty quick sometimes.
