Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I came from the 1000 where you basically tap the stop button a couple times and all the sounds stop playing. With the 2000XL I find myself shift hitting the TRIM screen to stop a triggered sample from playing (e.g., 4 bar loop, etc.) then go back to the previous screen I was in. Are there any tricks I'm unaware of to stop sounds or is this basically how it is?

I asked a similar question a while back and the advise I got was to assign another pad without a sound on it as a note off (like you would to close a open hi hat)
But I use a 2000.
I vaguely remember that there may be a different way of doing it on the XL
I think it was by hitting the stop button twice, but like I say I'm not completely sure.
Give it a shot, it might work.

Good job on going into trim. You can also set your samples to note off and set the event length to (384 * # of bars)

Yes this is what I do too, trim or prog or any other screen then back to main. Step edit/note off setting will really help with long samples left playing out.
