The onus is on Akai to get the UAD stuff working, and not Universal Audio to support a product that's barely on the periphery of music making apps.

Doesn't the UAD stuff introduce latency though? :hmmm:

UAD have a 64buffer selection if latency in applications doesnt support 0 buffer.
the latency im getting on the sends on MPC is intolerable For parallel processing .
however latency is noted in PT & Logic with my octo & duo fairly loaded during a mix , possibly 30ms, however those systems bring it all together in audio, its simply the scrol thats behind.

im not sure a single user will get Akai off their apparent throne to assess the issue.. ut damn if iwas was a coder id develop for the finest & everything else should fit in its system..? seeing im not a coder i might just have to sit back & chew the fat with tech support for the next however long??

One thing I have noticed is when you have you sample rate set to 44.1, the unit will crash when plug ins are used, if you change your sample rate to 48 the unit is stable and not crash, make sure your audio card and mpc sample rate match.

I am definitely going to try this, thanks for the tip. I'm on Mac 10.9 and running the 1.8.2 MPC software. Sometimes I go for weeks without a single crash, then again they happen after working 10 minutes on a new project. I was not able to pinpoint what the cause could be, hope this helps. I'm glad I don't have to use the Ren for live gigs, otherwise I'd be f*****!

Since I run Renaissance 1.8.2 with Yosemite I didn't ran into any crashes.Only had an Update Issue at day one caused by Yosemite, that's it.......all good since then!

Use the ren now and I have fewer crashes than I did on my XL.

Not using very much processing power, mostly chopped samples, a couple of sequences and some live finger drumming. Used 2 Rens in a live setup last weekend, no issues.
