Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hi guys,

i bought the midi connection for my sound card so i can sync my xl to the computer. I have a midi keyboard that i would like like to assign to differents midi channels so i can use difference vsts on my computer and record the midi in the mpc, that is possible right?

i have trouble too with cables, i need to go - keyboard midi out- midi in mpc
-midi out mpc- midi in computer
and midi out computer - midi in mpc?
is that right? i need three midi cables?

hope someone can understand me I suck at explaining and my english is getting worse and worse.

Saludos !

yeah :smoker:
MIDI
keyboard out > mpc in
mpc out > computer in
Basically you only need this ^^^ route

From computer MIDI out to MPC you would need if..
you would like to record VST's controls movements made with a mouse.. to MPC sequencer
or you need some other MIDI events (notes) from computer send to MPC

you can also send MIDI from computer to keyboard if it has "parameter feedback" (turn off "soft thru" on keyboard in this case)

You did not asked about audio route so I leave it to you :-D

P.S. I hope you ain't got one of those 5$ MIDI interface/cable as uno: it can not work at all, dos: OUTs and INs are named in wrong way.. opposite - if that's the case... you connect MPC out to computer MIDI out .. :WTF: :smoker:

Thanks maaan !!!! ou I'm really happy that i wasn't wrong hahahahah I'm really stupid when comes to midi.
What called my attention was that the mpc did not recognize de midi keyboard, thats why i made the post because i thought i was doing something wrong but i wasn't.

strange…..

when i put on monitor on the mpc nothing happens… and in the track is put on midi channel 1….the same on the keyboard. When i use my dx7 is ok but not with the midi key, any idea?

(i have a presonus firebox with the midi adaptor from the soundcard, i guess I'm ok)

midi thru? why? I'm not going in any midi trhu

(just to understand because of course maybe I'm wrong)

I don't think that's what bugfix meant. Not a physical "thru" port.
