I would also be asking the same question about audio tracks. Hope it's exactly what people expected. This update could definiltey be awesome if both are what people expect.

Understood. But IMO, Akai is always headed in the right direction (with a few exceptions of course like that belt-drive turntable... that's a LOL IMO). More important than their direction is whether they finish things or leave them half-baked (like audio tracks in the 5000).

Personally I really, really like the direction they're heading. I just don't trust their marketing. There's a lot of celebration in these threads based on some marketing words, all written by a company that has misled and lied about features and functions in the past. I know I'm probably ruining some highs here, but this is Akai folks - wait and see what this stuff really means. If it's good btw, I'll buy an MPC Touch that same day. Hope there's a flagship though.

And I'll say this, I would never use the audio tracks feature, but man I know you wanted it, so I'm happy for you, and hope it does what you want / need / expect.

Most likely it's gonna take a few bug fix updates but i'm cool with that. I purchased the studio when it first came out but I wanted the Ren because of the four midi outs/audio interface. I figured I'd wait till they added audio tracks. Looks like the time to buy is coming soon!

As someone who paid $1400 for a Ren right after launch, and has a studio for travel, that has ridden the waves of bugs and updates with a smile on my face, if I get asked to pay for the 2.0 upgrade... SADFACE. Followed by ANGERFACE.

I don't want to pay for the 2.0 update, but I will. I am sure they see an opportunity to make some money on the $699 Renaissance out there. Which will make the Renaissance the best value controller on the market right now that includes a audio interface and software. My hope is that Akai adds some Advance Keyboard type features like: Advance keyboard way to access and use plug-ins, and midi tracks out and stack features. After, 2.0 and the successor to Renaissance I wouldn't be surprised if they offer a lite and suite version. I hope they don't, but Akai is on point with 2.0 and continues to get better.

Y'all are going to hate me, but man I wouldn't mind a subscription or something to guarantee updates for the next couple of years.

Glad Akai gave us 1.9.2 during NAMM week because 2.0 will be a lot to take in. Audio tracks and real-time timestretching are big but sounds like there will be a lot more. I'm holding on to my Ren. Now back to more lazy chop.

Yep.

I sympathise with anyone who's recently sold their MPC's to go elsewhere...2.0 seems to provide every feature request I've ever seen or had myself.

I hope the audio tracks have on the fly punch-in and punch out, or whatever it's called. I don't expect it to have full blown DAW feature sets, but really basic functions will work for me.

It looks as if the guts are still the same, just a swap job for the faceplate and knobs. I say that because the new fancy pad colors from the MPC Touch are not in the pic.

My worry is that these parts plus the shipping turn as expensive as a brand new Black Turbo Studio 9000, kno im sayin?!

By now we can infer the bs from real talk. He shown a lot of stuff that Joe didn't ask for. He could have lied about the mpc 60 export also.

He has come a long way also, I chuckled when he said we have pad copy like maschine and you can set it by default.

It was shown in some sound for sampler videos and maschine master vids, but it's not talked about on here too much.
