MPC5000 reviews, bug reports and fellow user support on the most recent standalone, hardware MPC from Akai

Hi,

Another user posted this same issue in 2010 but nobody really chimed in to help.

I have my 5K sending MIDI out to a MIcrowave XT synth. I have set up the first row of QLINKS to control four parameters on the XT. It works perfectly and changes the parameters on the XT. There are no settings I have left out on either machine.

Then, if I record the movements into the 5K sequencer, I can see they have successfully been recorded as they show up as events in the step editor. However, when I play back my sequence, the recorded events do not play back. They are in the sequencer but not triggering the XT upon playback.

This is very odd as everything is set up correctly - I have checked and checked and double checked .

The following article explains what I am trying to do, and ironically the example details exactly what I am doing - using my 5K to control my Microwave XT:

So from this I know it can be done. I also hooked up a Korg Volca Keys in place of the Microwave, and the same happens - it controls the synth, records it but does not playback the recorded events.

Any help appreciated!

have you tried to record by turning the q-links or using the filter cutoff on the XT send Midi intro mpc ?

Thanks, it wasn't that. It was the XT's receive midi CC function, it was enabled but I had to enable/re-enable it a couple of times for anything to register - must be a bug or something, thanks for your input :)
