to fix this issue, you need a hammer... now hit every zip related thing you own. That way the 100% fail rate of your zip products will be on your terms and not iomega's.

next, either get the addonics IDE to CF adapter or get one on ebay for 1 or 2 dollars.

pro-tip: if you are not running OS1.20 yet, maybe use the zip drive to update the OS before smashing it.

I can say that massive amount of data have been lost, because of ZIP drives.
Remember, there was very few data storage options back in the days, and ZIP
drives became popular, just because it was cheap (MO drive was much, much better option, but it didn't gain popularity in the US.)
I sometimes wonder, how many bests were lost in Zips & floppies in 90s’.
When ZIP drives was the thing, 56K Modem & America Online was the thing too.
I like old technologies, but ZIP is not one of them.

In all honesty I never had a problem with the Jaz drives or disks.
Jaz > Zip

I've only had an issue with 1 Jaz disk, because it was stored in a wack way. That's why I keep all my Jaz disks in a velour pouch that has "swag" embroidered on the front.

2kxl has an ide connection on the mobo that fits an ide/atapi mcd.

Sorry I'm late to the ZIP party. Does anyone have a hammer? As Lampdog said no SATA adaptor in MPC so it would be the second one you'll be needing.

Destroy disks AND tile in one fell swoop, smart and not smart at the same time.
Prolly need to head to Home Depot to fix the floor after that, lol.

I'm a good shot, so the tiles are ok. The ZIP disks aren't though.

I'm keeping one unopened one as a testament to their greatness. The rest got it though. But Lampdog's right - DTTAHK!!! :lol:

I went from default floppy to zip250 to cf, and maaaanann, there was NO turning
back, cf was the greatest thing since air max nike's.

I used the same 512mb cf in my Triton Extreme and 2kxl, I had 2 folders on root "2kxl" and "Tri"
each samplers respective samples and projects were on the same cf. Both samplers used 44/16
wav so I could EASILY open any folder and borrow samples from the other without a problem.
CF remains in the Triton these days though, 2kxl has been neglected for a long long while now.
It prolly want's to divorce me.

i have a feeling that gif is going to come in handy around here...

yeah zip at first seems attractive because it's so much faster than floppy, but CF is where it's at on the XL.
