have noticed this forum become a bit staid lately

can some of you please share what CPU and RAM requirements you would have for a standalone MPC?

With today's technology, it's something I haven't even had to think about because the MPC Live looks like it'll offer more than I need. Coming from the MPC2000 and MPC1000, It'll be a big improvement. But polyphony would be more of my main concern. I'm not sure what the limit is on the MPC Live. But I'm hoping it's a lot better than previous hardware models.

It isn't going to support VST in standalone mode

Exactly.

how do u know this; Nick from sonicstate said the standalone runs the full mpc software; so I take that to include vst.

Yes, it runs the full software, but it won't support VSTs. Its an embedded ARM processor. VSTs would have to be ported to run on ARM. Currently not possible.

It should not matter which hardware processor is in the unit; cos the mpc software is running on windows 10.

so perhaps the hardware processor and be abstracted using virtual processors, but I dont think that is even necessary, the OS and the mpc software are compatible with vsts.

so I dont see the hardware being a factor, as long as this hardware supports windows.
